Charlie

I really just wish I could have a little boy and name him Charlie. Unfortunately I can't though, because everyone would think it was vain or obsessed with myself or something because my name's Carlie. Rats. Sorry Charlie.

FOR NARNIA

So Today has been a GREAT DAY. Like I don't know how much better it coulda gotten.
Slept over at my sister's last night=SLUMBER PARTY.
Woke up and drank delicious coffee.
Got an egg and cheese Bagel for breakfast.
Christmas Shopping: Bless your heart (aka my favorite place)Mast, Luck Penny, Farmers Ski Shop
Quick break for lunch at Panera: HEAVEN ON EARTH mac and cheese and broccoli cheddar soup YES
Back to shopping: Old Navy, Calendar place, TJ Maxx, WalMart
Success of a shopping day.
Then, wrapped some presents because I was so excited and wanted to pretend I was Santa's Elf while listening to Christmas Music.
and, Wendy's with my small group=French Fries
THEN Chronicles of Narnia 3 premier. It was flawless:

1. it was in 3-D
2. my small group leader Whitney bought my ticket because she heard I'm going broke
3. Chick-Fil-A was there giving away free items (got free cinnamon twists, and a free soda!)
4. Some lady in the bathroom lectured me for an hour about how I shouldn't have teenage kids for a long time because she couldn't find her 14 year old daughter.
5. Better news: she told me they came to the movies to watch Tangled with her 14 year old because she had a boyfriend she was meeting up with.
6. The movie people had a spinning wheel for prizes, I saw this t-shirt I wanted and told her, but instead I landed on "Large movie poster" BUT she said "oh we just ran out of those" and handed me AN ASLAN TSHIRT!!! BEST PRIZE EVER
and another lady handed me a narnia silly band even though I didn't win that prize either!
7.  This old couple was there representing Operation Christmas child and I talked to them telling them I've already made a box and they gave me free pens! so precious.
8. THEN the gellato place,  Scoops was giving away free samples of some fancy peppermint stuff. YES
9. THE MOVIE ROCKED
10. i love Aslan.
Tomorrow= HUGE football game that i'm superpumped for. cant wait.
Also, Huge blizzard coming to Boone on Sunday/Monday/Tuesday.
Exams ALREADY canceled for Monday and it's not even snowing yet. praise jesus.

Vases, Snow, and the best All-American movie.

When I was in Florida, my grandmom called me into the other room. She said "I have something I've been saving for you." She points down to this:
I tried not to laugh because I have no idea what it is! I said "OH thank you!" But I thought she was joking. Now I feel bad for thinking that because she went on to explain it belonged to her cousin's daughter, Carlie, who died of polio at the age of 25 and that she had been saving it for me so that I could have it because it would mean something to me. I still wasn't sure how to react and I (as nicely as I could) asked her "What's it for?" She said "for this" and she pointed at it, sitting on her floor being a 'decoration'. I was wondering what the hole on top is for and she said "I guess it could be like a vase or something but I think it's just decoration." Thank you grandmom.

I havent seen this much snow in who knows how long. All I wish is that 1. I had my snow pants and snow gloves at college with me so i could go play in it and 2. I had a sled here so I could go sledding
Last night though me and my floormates (mostly Allie-hollaa!) played outside in the snow pretending to be Harry Potter with icicle wands. EXPECTO PATRONUM!!!! AVADA KEDAVRA (spelling may be a little off?) our personal favorite... STUPIFY!!! hahaha that was the BEST snow game ever.

We took a little trip to Wal-Mart yesterday and thankfully praise JESUS found Talladega Nights for only 5 dollars! I just saw this movie for the first time at the beginning of the school year and i LOVE it. It is the best, classiest, All american, southern pride movie ive ever seen and it couldnt be more perfect. Please watch it if you've never seen it.

23 days til christmas...

Read in a tacky redneck accent:
"All you gotta do is look at the alligator tail and that'll tell you which way's North."-Dad's exact quote as we entered Georgia.
The family took an intense Florida Thanksgiving roadtrip which I'd say is summed up in that quote.
We ate good food, did some puzzles, played some Wii with the grandparents. Also, us kids were surprised with an airboat ride where we saw some gators! I was trying to dress all rugged for the adventure (sockos, bear tshirt, etc.) and the rest of the fam had fanny packs, glasses that get darker in the sun, etc. embarassing. Then the family that gets out of the car to join us COULDN'T HAVE BEEN CLASSIER. The ladies dressed in their Lilly Pulitzer and pearls, all of them had Ray Bands, vineyard vines, etc. They were even classy enough to push the microphones on our headphones down so noone could hear them talking. My family said hilarious quotes: my brother,  "Carlie Can you hear me? do you think Everyone can hear us?" the lady said "Yes." hahaha. Grandmom "I need to scratch my head but I cant reach it" hahaha welcome to the family.

Upon return to college my roommate and I have decorated our dorm for christmas. Christmas songs are always on (mostly I just play Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays by NSYNC over and over), and we have lights strung around the room. It's great.FACT: Christmas is the best holiday. There are great vibes all around campus, it's been a little snowy and real cold.TRUE LIFE: I feel like we live at Hogwarts.

So my friend told me she was going to see the boys from The Buried Life the other day, they were coming to her college to speak and for a meet and greet. I asked her if she'd get Duncan (or any of them) to write me a little note. She gladly accepted the challenge. YES. if she got me that my dreams would be complete. I also told her to feel free to tell them I'll marry any of them on the spot and they can feel free to facebook stalk me. Fingers crossed.
